| Founded in 1983, Selective Koi Sales Ltd. are among the UK's longest established Koi dealers, and have a deserved reputation for supplying show quality Japanese fish at reasonable prices. They operate from an attractive wooded site at Hainford, a small village off the A140 Cromer Road just three miles north of Norwich Airport.
There are two large heated ponds in the landscaped garden setting, one shaded by a pergola, the other open to the elements. These are fitted with the latest refinements, so visitors can see for themselves the effectiveness of ozone, foam fractionation and auto-feeders. Several smaller vats, including two more with heat, hold a fast turnover of koi. SKS can design and build customer ponds and fit them out with the latest equipment. The company were the first in the UK to import reliable and affordable ozone treatment systems, fractionators, programmable feeders and mechanical blanketweed sieves.
They also manufacture glassfibre gravity-fed filters and quarantine systems, and offer a full range of ancillary equipment including nets, koi bowls, water purifiers, medications, books & videos. A speciality is reconditioned hospital microscopes at a fraction of their original cost. SKS are proud to be sole UK distributors for premium-quality Medicarp and Nobori koi foods, to which is now added the everyday Yamato Nishiki brand from the same Japanese manufacturers.
The SKS 'family' includes hobbyists from immediate catchment area, East Anglia, and much further afield. The company has strong links with the Norwich Koi Club, but there's really no limit to the distance people will travel. SKS support the trade through membership of the Professional Koi Dealers' Association and regular attandance at major UK shows, where fast growing Go-Sanke from Hiroshima Sakai are usually for sale at bargain prices.
Free tea and coffee and a friendly welcome await visitors old and new to SKS, who are open seven days a week from 10am. Selective Koi Sales are old fashioned in that they know how to treat there customers properly, but they still move the hobby forward with their innovative approach to pond technology.
